“AFMF’s Marriage Protection Caucus is powerful grassroots strategy that organizes the bipartisan strength of citizen legislators to strengthen and protect the future of marriage,” The vast majority of Americans – regardless of party -- believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, and America’s state legislators overwhelmingly agree”.  Matt Daniels

Welcome to AFMF’s State Legislative Marriage Protection Caucus Action Center.

The initial focus of the Marriage Protection Caucus (MPC) is to advance state marriage amendments in states without a constitutional definition of marriage.  In states that already have amendments, the MPC is working to advance a non-binding Marriage Protection Resolution; a joint resolution passed by state legislatures calling upon the state’s congressional delegation and congressional leadership in Washington, to send the federal Marriage Protection Amendment to state legislators for ratification.   The Alliance for Marriage Foundation is currently active in 31 states.  We invite you to scroll your cursor over the map below and click on your state.  If AFMF is active in your state, you will be taking to a state specific Action Page where we ask that you contact your legislator.  If you are a state legislator please complete the MPC Membership Application on your state page.

The Marriage Protection Caucus now has individual state legislator members in fourteen states, with additional states and individual legislators coming aboard daily.  Ultimately, the Marriage Protection Caucus will be comprised of individual state legislators from all 50 states.

Thank you for taking action to protect marriage in America!
